Create your very own masterpieces using a modernized version of a method used for hundreds of years by some of the world's most renowned Renaissance artists, such as Rembrandt, Mantegna and Caravaggio. 21st Century Grisaille is a modern take on an old masters' oil painting technique, using tones of gray to establish a composition, after which coloured transparent glazes of colour are added to finish the work. In this updated version of the technique, you will be using acrylic paints and mediums to create a form of underpainting to create a base for subsequent layers. Overpainting will consist of transparent coloured glazes, allowing the underpainting to show through. Learn the master's technique but in a much less time-consuming fashion.
A $20 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
