Published

Peterborough, ON (April 19, 2024) – Meet your future professors, ask questions, and learn more about the hundreds of in-depth programs at Fleming College’s three campuses during the annual Spring Open House on April 20.

Taking place at the Sutherland, Frost and Haliburton Campuses, Open House runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Aspiring healthcare professionals, budding tradespersons and future community builders can check out Fleming’s workshops, labs and learning spaces. Whether you are a prospective new student taking your first step forward in your post-secondary journey, or a mature student looking for a new career, come tour Fleming’s campuses and check out the resources available to students.

Information about financial aid, residence, off-campus housing, and post-secondary life in our campus communities will be available at each campus.

Visitors to the Sutherland Campus can check out the wide array of services available to students, from accessibility to diversity and inclusion services. Take a self-guided tour of the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, and chat with current students about their experiences in a wide range of programs.

At the Frost Campus, Arboriculture students are putting on a tree climbing demonstration while the Fleming Phoenix Loggersports team will showcase their talents. Visitors can also check out insect, wildlife, and fish displays. Guests can enter a contest and win a chance to blow up dozens of watermelons during an explosive demonstration of Fleming’s Blasting Techniques program.

The Haliburton School of Art + Design encourages all visitors to take part in live demonstrations and interact with Fleming’s students and instructors during Open House. Future students can check out the student art exhibit in the Great Hall and walk along the adjacent Sculpture Forest Trail.

Those interested in pursuing a career in firefighting can visit the Eastern Ontario Emergency Training Academy in Norwood, and talk to the faculty, staff and students who make up Fleming’s Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training program.

Any media wishing to attend Open House at any of our campuses can contact Communications Officer Sarah Deeth at sarah.deeth@flemingcollege.ca.
